❄️ BLOODROT "Deathgasms" EP [ FSI-065 ] ❄️

Bloodrot exists only to bring you misery. Born of dread + doom from the hellscape that is New Jersey, this is a brand new unholy combo of blasphemous barbaric death doom + brutal sludge founded by E.X. (of Reeking + Cathedrals In The Night). Following the release of their debut demo, E.X. started work on Bloodrot's debut EP "Deathgasms," presented here on clear cassette w/ blood red foil liner by Frozen Screams. An exercise in misery, the EP slowly unravels across 4 brutal tracks that will drag you to the deepest pits of purgatory.

This special EP release also includes the 2 aforementioned demos as bonus tracks. It's rare that I come across a band that puts me into such a dark + disturbing headspace -- so I don't recommend listening to this if you're having a rough day, it will only make things worse. Bloodrot is the sonic equivalent of a depressing plunge into the murkiest corners of Hell -- and I love every second of it.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
