BLOOD RAGE - "Welcome to Crimson Pines" (FSI-043)

Frozen Screams Imprint partners once again with Cavernous Records (UK) for the debut album from BLOOD RAGE, “Welcome to Crimson Pines.” Formed in 2020 by Tom Hughes (Crypt Rot / Maimed) to create old school death metal inspired by the golden era of the genre + stylized under the influence of late 1980’s slasher horror films. After a year of Tom writing + recording all the guitars + bass, Filip Garlonta (Putred / Demoted) joined the band on vocals + Ryan Wills (Seven Doors / Born Undead) provided guest solos + drum programming.

Kyle Messick of Maimed provides guest vocals on “He Came Back" + Italian synth composer TV Crimes composed 2 intros to each side of the release, with a loving homage to 80’s slasher themes that echo Harry Manfredini + Stelvio Cipriani, serving as bookends that create an atmosphere akin to a Friday night stroll through the horror section of your musty local video store during the VHS boom!

The result: 8 tracks that form a conceptual album to begin the band’s journey into death metal meets summer camp slasher nostalgia — with each forthcoming release revealing more about the camp’s bloody history.

Death metal + horror have gone hand-in-hand for decades — that was one of the principles on which Frozen Screams Imprint was founded. No release in our catalog to date better encapsulates that synergy quite like BLOOD RAGE!
