WRETCHED INFERNO - "Cacophony of Filth" (FSI-045)

Frozen Screams Imprint + Cavernous Records join forces once again to bring you the second full-length album from WRETCHED INFERNO! This time last year both labels partnered on the band’s debut LP “Decayed Butchery,” so when we heard the new demos it was a bloody no-brainer to work together again! This is our 45th release on FSI + WRETCHED INFERNO’s third release with us.

“Cacophony of Filth” completely shatters + obliterates any notion of a sophomore slump. Each of the 10 tracks stand on their own like severed limbs, while forming a cohesive gruesome torso of a whole that (once again) seamlessly blends brutal + old school death metal, grindcore, slam, goregrind + literally all things heavy. All with a unique approach + versatile style WRETCHED INFERNO has been sharpening since the “Fester” days. Think “Decayed Butchery” turned up to 11 — the disgusting seeds planted on that first record have grown into a full-blown carnivorous plant!

A massive step forward for the band, both in songwriting + production, which will no doubt serve as a bookmark for the current chapter of East Coast / New England death metal. With guest vocals from Erik Thorstenn of Bonginator + Billy Nicholls of Mourned, mixing + mastering done at Szechuan Studio in Newburyport MA, bass / vocals / guitars all recorded in-house by the band, w/ drums recorded at Upside in Worcester MA, “Cacophony of Filth” truly showcases the very best of what the local Massachusetts death metal scene has to offer.

First shell color “Arterial Red” is limited to 50, including full color 3-panel Jcard + lyrics w/ artwork by @martyrdoom.illustrations, along w/ bonus track “Maggot Host” (cover of Boston extreme metal band Obliviation). CD format to follow soon from Cavernous Records + you can pre-order digital from the band directly as well.

New singles will premier on Fridays going forward leading up to full digital release October 28th.
